The "first northern urban democrat since Truman" -- or was it Kennedy?

So, the NPR reporters are starting to show, through their "body language" (as another NPR reporter described it earlier today), that Barack Obama will be next President of the United States. I just heard one commentator say that Obama will be the first northern urban Democrat since Truman. He noted that Obama is like Clinton, though, in being a member of the "credentialed class." And that is where the elitism comes in . . . or is it?

In any event, another reporter then quickly came in and subtly corrected that Obama will be the "first northern urban Democrat since Kennedy". . . also a member of the credentialed class.
