Legal Ruralism

In the news ...

I'm on vacation with spotty internet access and little time to write when I have it.  But the rural headlines are stacking up, so I'll simply collect some recent ones here:

Spoils of the Sea Elude Many in an Alaska Antipoverty Plan, dateline Akiak, Alaska

Inspiring Mayberry, and Then Becoming It, dateline Mount Airy, North Carolina

West Virginia, Still Home

Marijuana Crops in California Threaten Forests and Wildlife, dateline Arcata, California

How a Merger Could Affect Congress' Favorite Airport, dateline Washington, DC, but with references to Bangor, Maine

And then there is the farm bill news:

House Smacks Down Farm Bill, and Farm Lobby, Too

Fraud Used to Frame Farm Bill Debate

and

House Rejects Farm Bill as Food Stamp Cuts Prove Divisive
