Being born in Winnemuccca, and frequently going back and forth from it, it does not surprise me that it would be high in terms of upward mobility. There as a been a shift in education in these smaller communities that focuses more on technical school. In places like Winnemucca, where mining plays a key role in the economy, it would make sense the job opportunities in that industry would promote economic mobility for the community. So it's important to realize how pivotal certain rural industries are in allowing people to advance, no matter how frequently they are dismissed.
